KOSTAS ZISIMOPOULOS
🇮🇹 Compositore classe 1994, nato ad Atene, Grecia. Dopo essersi laureato in teatrologia presso la Facoltà di Belle Arti dell’Università del Peloponneso e aver conseguito il diploma di specializzazione in Teoria Musicale Avanzata, Armonia e Contrappunto, studia composizione presso il Conservatorio di Utrecht, dove consegue la laurea triennale. Nel 2021 segue il programma Erasmus+ presso l’Universität Der Künste di Berlino e attualmente continua la sua formazione in composizione al Koninklijk Conservatorium. Ha inoltre frequentato masterclass e lezioni di G. Aperghis, S. Gervasoni, C. Ianotta, Y. Robin, F. Filidei,Y. Maresz, R. Cendo, E. Reiter, G. Spiropoulos, H. Parra, M. Lanza, J. M. Staud, O. Bianchi, B. Pierluigi e D. Kourliandski.
Ha ricevuto molteplici commissioni da ensemble e istituzioni come la Philharmonie de Paris, e ha collaborato con diversi complessi quali Percussions de Strasbourg, Ensemble Multilatérale, Les Metaboles, Ensemble Fractales, Divertimento Ensemble, PHACE, Trio Estatico, Ensemble Taller Sonoro, Meitar Ensemble, Ensemble, Roadrunner Trio, United Instruments of Lucilin, TACETi, Ensemble Suono Giallo, Kaaos Ensemble, Vertixe Sonora, GAMEnsemble, ARTéfacts ensemble, Ensemble Terrible, Phoenix e KamerOrkest Driebergen.

La sua musica si fonda su aspetti quali la contaminazione, l’instabilità, l’interruzione e l’interferenza. La sua ricerca esplora il tempo e la sua percezione, in combinazione ad elementi come la forma, la materialità, il ritmo e la sonorità. Ha collaborato con coreografi, artisti, compagnie teatrali e collettivi, tra cui “Imitating the Dog”, “Theatre of Experience” e “Thingamajig”, e ha composto musiche originali per “Old Times” di Harold Pinter, “The Dance of Death” di A. Strindberg e “ASTYlogia” di N. Fytas.
Ha ricevuto primi premi, menzioni d’onore e riconoscimenti in concorsi quali Ise-Shima Composition Competition, DYCE Discovering Young Composers of Europe, Bruno Maderna Composition Competition e Composition Competition – Franz Schubert Konservatorium, Wien e INMF (Impulse New Music Festival). La sua musica è stata presentata in prima assoluta ed eseguita in Francia, Austria, Italia, Svizzera, Lussemburgo, Paesi Bassi, Repubblica Ceca, Spagna, Grecia, Cipro, Ucraina, Israele, Stati Uniti, Russia e Canada.

After graduating as a theatrologist from the University of Peloponnese Faculty Of Fine Arts, Theatre Departmentand and receiving specialized Diplomas in Advanced Music Theory, Harmony and Counterpoint, he started to study composition in Utrecht Conservatorium, where he obtained his Bachelor degree. His music is mainly focused on the ideas of deviation, instability, interruption and interference. He is interested in researching the different levels of time and time perception by taking into consideration phenomena such as form, micro-material, rhythm and sonority. He had collaborated with choreographers, artists, theatre groups, collectives and companies such as ‘Imitating the Dog’, ’Theatre of Experience’ and ‘Thingamajig’ by composing original music for ‘Old Times’ by Harold Pinter, ‘The Dance of Death’ by A. Strindberg’ and ‘ASTYlogia’ by N. Fytas among others.
He has been awarded 1st prizes, honourable mentions and finalist in competitions such as Ise-Shima Composition Competition, DYCE Discovering Young Composers of Europe, Bruno Maderna Composition Competition and Composition Competition – Franz Schubert Konservatorium, Wien and INMF (Impulse New Music Festival).
