La sala dell’Astrolampo

The Astrolampo room

Tra la Sala di spettacolo e la Sala dei Pittori, oltre la volta, si apre una stanza destinata ad ospitare l’Astrolampo. Essendo illuminato a gas, esso infatti necessitava che ci si avvicinasse l’accensione dei lumi, la sua pulitura e manutenzione. A questo scopo fu necessario creare un meccanismo che permettesse di sollevare il lampadario, fino a farlo scomparire nell’apposita sala. Il sollevamento avviene grazie ad un meccanismo basato sul principio del contrappeso, e una volta che l’Astrolampo è portato nella sua sala, due assi scorrevoli, mediante ruote su guide di legno, chiudo­no il foro di passaggio sotto di esso, permettendo di svolgere le operazioni necessarie nella massima sicurezza.
All’interno della sala, una doppia carrucola a manovelle permette di controllare sia l’apertura/chiusura delle assi di legno, che quella della grata traforata, che, nella volta della Sala di spettacolo, chiude il foro di passaggio dell’Astrolampo.

🇬🇧 Between the performance hall and the Painters hall, beyond the vault, there is a room used to house the Astrolampo. Being gas-lit, it needed to be approached by the lighting of the lamps, and its cleaning and maintenance. For this purpose, it was necessary to create a mechanism that would allow the chandelier to be raised, until it disappeared in the appropriate room. The lifting takes place thanks to a mechanism based on the principle of the counterweight, and once the Astrolampo is brought into its room, two sliding axes, by means of wheels on wooden guides, close the passage hole under it, allowing the necessary operations to be carried out in maximum safety.

Inside the hall, a double cranked pulley allows you to control both the opening/closing of the wooden planks and that of the perforated grate, which, in the vault of the performance hall, closes the passage hole of the Astrolampo.
