Nel sottotetto, sopra la volta della sala di spettacolo, si apre una sala di 22 m per 22 m, illuminata da lunette lungo tre lati, nella quale venivano dipinte le scene. Attraverso un sem­plice meccanismo di carrucole e assi girevoli, le grandi tele venivano poi calate, tramite apposite feritoie, sul fondo del palcoscenico e, alla fine degli spettacoli, ritirate su e sistemate sui lunghi pioli inseriti nel muro nella sala dei fondali, immediatamente sottostante la Sala dei pittori.

🇬🇧 In the attic, above the auditorium ceiling, there is a 22 by 22 m room – lit by lunettes that run along three of its sides – where scenery flats were painted. With the use of a simple mechanism of pulleys and rotary axes, the large canvases were then lowered through floor slits to the rear of the stage and, at the end of shows, lifted and stored on long pegs inserted into the wall of the Backdrops storage room directly below the Painters Hall.
