Fondazione I Teatri supports Casa del Quartetto, a residency programme for young string quartets, with the intention of promoting opportunities for professional growth and of cultivating new artistic talents, also in anticipation of the Paolo Borciani International String Quartet Competition.
The programme provides the selection of string quartets resident in Italy and a “direct invitation” of young international quartets, for a maximum of 4 formations.
The project includes a period of residency in Reggio Emilia, whose purpose is the study of new pieces as well as the performance of a repertoire agreed with the tutor and trainers.
The project included a period of residency in Reggio Emilia from June 3rd to 16th 2019, whose purpose was the study of new pieces composed by Claudio Panariello and Zeno Baldi as well as the performance of a repertoire agreed with the tutor and trainers.
The residency programme will be composed of study sessions with the members of Cremona Quartet, Maurice Quartet and Bèla Quartet, rehearsals with composers Panariello and Baldi, coordinated by Francesco Filidei, musical advisor of Fondazione I Teatri and tutor of the programme, independent study and public concerts.
