The quartets selected to participate in this 10th edition of the Premio Borciani competition are of exceptional quality. The total age of the four musicians has been lowered, which has led to the participation of very talented young artists. As everyone knows, competitions are highly complex events that are very demanding on all the participants involved. The jury consists of excellent members who will surely reach a correct decision.
One of the hallmarks of the City of Reggio Emilia and the Premio Borciani Competition is the lively, heartfelt participation of the audience at the various segments of the contest, as well as the events that regularly accompany it as it continues from day to day. As demanded by tradition, the participating quartets that cannot continue until the final round will be asked to stay - at their discretion - not only to enjoy the remaining stages of the competition, but also to continue making music, this time in a completely informal atmosphere, completely unlike the competitive environment, building a different relationship with the audience. To these ends invitations have been extended to Bruno Canino, a remarkable pianist and chamber musician, and Giovanni Riccucci, first clarinet with the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and clarinet professor at the Fiesole School of Music. For these events, the organizers will make available a number of old cloisters in the city, along with the Cavallerizza Theater.
